Dear Class of 2029,

The New Richmond High School Counseling Department would like to extend our warmest regards to you, and take this opportunity to pass along some information regarding your student’s transition to High School!

To prepare students and families for this upcoming transition, we will provide a high school tour, Parent/Student Info Night, and then counselors will visit the Middle School and St. Mary School to go over registration and class selection.  Please see dates below for more information, and feel free to click on the links on the right side of the page for all related materials. 

• Tuesday, February 18th – during school day: High School Tour (students only)
• Thursday, February 20th – 6:00pm: Incoming Freshman Parent & Student Night (NRHS Auditorium)
  • Feel free to come early or stay after to walk the building and share what your student learned on the tour.
• Tuesday, February 25th  – Counselors visit the Middle School to provide class registration info.
• Friday, March 7th – Deadline to submit class requests for the 2025-2026 school year.  

*If you are unable to attend any of these events, video recordings and all related materials can be found on this page in the links on the right.

**Your Counselor at the Middle School  will also have additional registration packets available if your student is absent on the day NRHS counselors visit to go over class registration.

Below you will find links to college planning, testing resources, and other resources that will help on your journey. 

In addition, all Juniors and parents are invited to attend an Academic and Career Planning presentation during parent/teacher conferences during the fall semester.  You will also have the opportunity to meet individually with your counselor Junior year to explore options specific to you, and provide guidance through the college planning and/or career search process.

College Goal Wisconsin: College Goal Wisconsin is a statewide program designed to assist students and families in the timely completion of their Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA). These are usually offered around January and are held at local colleges. Northwood Tech often hosts one.   You don't need to be planning to go to that college hosting the event to attend their FAFSA session.  Visit the College Goal Wisconsin website for more information!
