Early College Credit / Start College Now
Wisconsin's Early College Credit Program (ECCP) and Start College Now Program are offered through a partnership with the WI Department of Public Instruction (DPI), NRHS, and UW System and Technical College schools. ECCP allows students to take classes at a WI post-secondary institution while still in high school. If the student's request is approved under DPI guidelines, the district will provide payment for the cost of the course.
To qualify, students must have taken ALL courses available at the high school in the subject area they plan to take a course at the college level. Students must also demonstrate academic achievement, attendance, and have not major disciplinary actions.
Since NRHS has a large variety of courses, including several AP, as well as courses with Northwood Technical College and UWRF, requests in several subject areas (such as English, Math, and Science) may not be approved. However, if you have taken ALL the courses in a specific area and want to continue on with more classes, then this is a great opportunity for you.
If you would like to apply, applications are due by the following dates:
- Spring Term Deadline: October 1
- Summer Term Deadline: February 1
- Fall Term Deadline: March 1
Applications are specific if you are applying to a technical college or a UW System/Wisconsin Private School. Make sure to select the appropriate one for where you would like to apply to take class(es). These application links are provided below.
After students submit their application, it will be reviewed by the Board of Education and students will be notified if they are approved by April 15 for the Summer and Fall terms, and November 15 for the Spring Term. If you would like to know more about this program, please visit DPI WI. Feel free to contact Mrs. Bartlett in the NRHS Counseling Department with any questions.
