District Partnerships & Community Resources

The School District of New Richmond has partnered with different organizations and community agencies to promote mental health and wellness to our students, staff, and families, to build a healthy and sustained positive learning environment. We have compiled local resources to help students and families get connected with the support they need.

District Partnerships

The following community agencies are partners with the School District of New Richmond and are also available to youth and families through several of our schools.

  • Thrive Psychological and Consulting Services
    • School-based services offering personalized mental health counseling and psychological services for students.  We partner with Thrive providers who see students at some of our elementary schools, NRMS and NRHS.

  • Family Therapy Associates
    • School-based services offering personalized mental health counseling and psychological services for students.  We partner with FTA providers who see students at some of our elementary schools, NRMS and NRHS.

  • Cook Center
    • Offers FREE support and coaching to all families and staff within the district and access to monthly mental health series webinars.

  • Northwest Passage
    • Offers an 8-week experiential learning group tailored to the needs of students through engaging, hands-on learning opportunities.

  • EmpowerU Education Programming
    • Offers a 6-week online independent course where students identify goals in four areas: personal, emotional, social, and academic. Students complete 2-3 lessons each week and have 1:1 personalized coaching with highly-trained EmpowerU coaches. Your child's school counselor will also be able to see goals and progress.

  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
    • Provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The 988 Lifeline is a national network of over 200 local crisis centers, combining local care and resources with national standards and best practices.
  • Hudson Physicians Behavioral and Mental Health Program
    • Provides behavioral and mental health programs for children and families. They also evaluate and treat many mental health conditions. Offers counseling, psychiatry, behavioral modification, family consultation, education and training.
  • Nystrom & Associates in Hudson, WI
    • Offers child and family therapy and counseling out of Hudson, WI
  • Crescent Moon Counseling
    • Offers counseling in addition to art therapy and nature-based therapy services for teens, young adults, and adults in New Richmond, WI.
  • Family Therapy Associates
    • Offers a variety of counseling and therapy services from children to adolescents.
  • Northwest Passage
    • Offers pediatric neuropsychological evaluations, group therapy, custom mental health solutions, and school-based mental health therapy.
  • St. Croix County Mental Health
    • Offers a variety of services and treatment approaches. Please call the Access Line to set up an appointment at 715-246-8255.
  • NAMI: National Alliance on Mental Illness for St. Croix Valley
    • Offers education, advocacy resources, and family and peer support groups to those in Pierce and St. Croix County.
  • Western Wisconsin Health Behavioral Services​​​​
    • Offers psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, and behavioral health counselors who provide child, adolescent, individual and family services to help patients experience optimal mental health at all phases of life. Locations in Roberts,WI and Baldwin, WI.
  • Children's Resource Network - West
    • Offers information on children's conditions, health benefits counseling, services in the community, referrals to providers and therapists, and parent-to-parent supports.

    • Offers a variety of substance-use resources.
  • Northwest Passage Peer Support
    • Free service for St. Croix County residents who are struggling with mental health and/or substance use disorders. Contact the following:

  • Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation
    • Offers virtual or in-person services at their Minnesota locations.
  • Alateen
    • Offers a peer support group for teens who are struggling with the effects of someone else's problem drinking. Many Alateen groups meet at the same time and location as an AI-Anon group. Alateen meetings are open only to teenagers. Alateen is not a program for young people seeking sobriety.

  • Cook Center for Human Connection
    • In partnership with our district, parents have access to FREE parent support and coaching for all families and staff within the district and access to monthly mental health series webinars.
      • Parent Support and Coaching: If you or your family is in need of extra support, go to ParentGuidance.org, select "Parent Coaching" and select "Get Started".     • Offers food 2 times per month to residents. Clients can come in to shop for food or receive food curbside.
  • Ruby's Pantry
    • Offers pop-up pantry and food distribution. Visit their Facebook page for up-to-date information.
  • Fresh Express Mobile Market
    • Brings basic grocery items to neighborhoods in Western WI including New Richmond at NO COST. Every 4th Saturday of each month the truck will be at Starr Elementary, 967 Starr Ave S, New Richmond, WI from 11am-11:30am. Visit website for other locations and times-Flyers here

Housing & Homelessness Resources

According to the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, homelessness is defined as individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. If you or your family are experiencing homelessness, please contact our district homelessness/foster care liaison, Morrigan Villa at mvilla@newrichmond.k12.wi.us.

What is Considered Homelessness?

Individuals and youth are considered homeless if they are living in one of the following situations:

  • Living with a friend, relative, or someone else due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or a similar reason
  • Living in motels, hotels, cars, public spaces, or campgrounds
  • Living in shelters, transitional housing units, or awaiting foster care placement
  • Living in places not ordinarily used for sleeping, including cars, parks, public places, abandoned buildings, or bus or train stations
  • Unaccompanied youth who are not in the care of a parent/guardian and living in one of the situations above

    • Offers help to residents of St. Croix County to maintain stable living situations, emotional well-being, and personal dignity when experiencing temporary financial hardships.

    • Provides stability to low-income families and individuals by offering services that address their needs
