STEP Program

Welcome to the New Richmond School District’s Senior Tax Exchange Program (STEP). We are very proud to provide this program!

The STEP Program provides an opportunity for social security-eligible Senior Citizens aged 62 or older to work in the schools in exchange for a property tax credit. STEP benefits extend well beyond property tax relief for the Senior Citizen--to students, school staff and far into the community around us.

The STEP Program provides Senior Citizens with:

An opportunity to use and share their skills

The STEP Program provides Students with:

Increased one-on-one learning experience
Positive social and emotional growth
An invaluable cross-generational experience

The STEP Program provides Staff with:

Improved support from retired members of the community
Opportunity to demonstrate the "GREAT THINGS" the schools are doing
Opportunity to increase community awareness of the changes in education and in our schools
Additional assistance with students both in and out of the classroom
