Welcome to Physical Education! In order for you to get the most rewarding experience from class, there are some basic rules that every student should follow:
- TRY YOUR BEST
- BE RESPECTFUL
- BE HONEST
- BE PREPARED
SUPPLIES REQUIRED FOR PHYSICAL EDUCATION:
Physical Education Uniform
Tennis Shoes that tie (crocs, "Hey Dudes", sandals, slip-on shoes, and flipflops, etc. are not acceptable)
ATTENDANCE & MAKE UP WORK:
Physical Fitness takes place every day in Physical Education. If you miss a day it is very important you complete 30-minutes of physical activity outside of class to make up the points that you missed. The activity needs to be cardiovascular in nature and non-school related. Once completed, the STUDENT should complete a makeup form which can be obtained through the Physical Education webpage or in the gymnasium. The PARENT or GUARDIAN MUST sign the makeup form to verify the student’s activity. Lastly, the student needs to turn in their makeup form to their Physical Education Teacher.
MEDICAL EXCUSES:
Students are allowed to miss one PE class per year with a written parent's note to excuse them for an injury. If a student is going to miss more than one class, they need to be accompanied by a doctors note excusing them.
LOCKER ROOM EXPECTATIONS:
All students will be issued a lock to be used for the school year. It is the students’ responsibility to make sure their locker is closed and the lock is securely locked before leaving PE class. If your child loses their lock, please advise them to speak directly to their teacher to get a replacement.
GRADING:
You will receive points for daily participation, sport skills, and fitness testing. Please see the student handbook for the grading scale.
