Nomination & Selection Process

Nomination Process:
  1. Nominations may be submitted by members of the community, general public, and Athletic Hall of Fame Committee members.
  2. New Richmond High School Athletic Hall of Fame nomination forms, including detailed information on selection criteria and process, are available in the New Richmond High School Office or online at www.newrichmond.k12.wi.us (Select About NRHS then click on Athletic Hall of Fame)
  3. All nominations must be submitted on the official nomination form. Nominations are due by March 1.
  4. The nominator must gather pertinent information on the nominee and inform them of such to make sure they are willing to receive the award if selected. The nominator will be responsible to meet the deadlines set forth by the committee.

Selection Process:
  1. The Hall of Fame Selection Committee reviews the list of nominations.
  2. Members research each nominee’s qualifications and present findings to the committee.
  3. Discussion follows and, if needed, further research is done.
  4. Selection of individuals is by vote.
  5. For voting to occur, seventy five percent of committee members must be present to vote.

Student Athlete Nominees:
  1. No more than five athletes are elected in one year with the exception of the first two years.
  2. Those who are inducted are the nominees with the most votes who have also received votes from half or more of the Selection Committee members present at the selection meeting.
  3. Those individuals not receiving enough votes for induction will have their nomination automatically rolled over for a maximum of five consecutive years.
  4. An athlete can be re-nominated if not inducted.
  5. There need not be a student-athlete inductee in any given year.

Coaching Nominees:
  1. No more than two coaches are elected in a year after the first two years.
  2. Those who are inducted are the nominees with the most votes who have also received votes from half or more of the Selection Committee members present at the selection meeting.
  3. Those individuals not receiving enough votes for induction will have their nomination automatically rolled over for a maximum of five consecutive years.
  4. A coach can be re-nominated if not inducted.
  5. There need not be a coach inductee in any given year.
 
Distinguished Service Athletic Award:
  1. No more than one Distinguished Service Athletic Award is elected in one year. The only exception would be the first two years when two individuals may be inducted per year.
  2. The individual inducted is the person with the most votes who has also received votes from half or more of the Selection Committee members present at the selection meeting.
  3. Those individuals not receiving enough votes for induction will have their nomination automatically rolled over for a maximum of five consecutive years.
  4. An individual can be re-nominated if not inducted.
  5. There need not be a Distinguished Athletic Award inductee in any given year.
