Mealey - Music

Jodi Mealey is thrilled to be teaching in the New Richmond School District at both Paperjack  Elementary and the Middle School.  This is her fifth year in the New Richmond School District, but she previously taught music in New York and Colorado.  At Paperjack, she teaches general music K-5, and at the Middle School she teaches 6th-8th grade band lessons.

Mrs. Mealey grew up outside of Milwaukee and attended Mukwonago High School.  She went on to graduate from Viterbo University in LaCrosse with a bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance. After realizing her love of teaching, she went back to school and earned her teaching certification in music through St. Mary's University.
In addition to teaching, Mrs. Mealey has performed professionally for many years.  Some favorite roles include: La Cenerentola (Cinderella), Le Nozze di Figaro (Susanna), Die Zauberflöte (Queen of the Night), Guys and Dolls (Sarah), Little Shop of Horrors (Ronnette), The Threepenny Opera (Lucy) and The Importance of Being Earnest (Gwendolen). She even toured the Hawaiian Islands as a singer/dancer on the S/S Independence Cruise Ship.  She was also a featured performer with the touring troupe Kids from Wisconsin, where she met her trumpeter husband, Matt Mealey. (Mr. Mealey is the band director at New Richmond High School.)
Mrs. Mealey loves to dance and has choreographed for: Platinum Edition – Viterbo University Show Choir, Stagekids Inc., Hudson (Iowa) Show Choir, LaCrosse Boys Choir, Mukwonago High School Show Choir, 4-H Show Choir, Willow River Players production of Annie Get Your Gun, and even the New Richmond High School Marching Band. She also loves choreographing the New Richmond High School productions of Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, White Christmas, Cinderella and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Mrs. Mealey simply loves all things music. She enjoys going to music performances, dancing, playing piano, and singing.  In addition to teaching full-time in the school district, she teaches private piano & voice lessons in her home. She also performs locally for weddings, parties, and at restaurants or special events. She loves spending time with her husband and three children, ages: 12, 11, and 9 years, who all attend school in New Richmond.  Often times, the whole family will hang out on the weekend watching movies or shows like: Dr. Who, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Avengers, Stranger Things, Wonderwoman, and more!  A lot of time is also spent playing with the family doggies -  Marley (Boston Terrier) and Pippin (Boston/Chihuahua mix) and Chewy (Chi-weenie).
