• Syllabus

    This course is designed to reinforce and expand upon the basic language, reading, and writing skills taught in English 9 and achieve proficiency in the Wisconsin state anchor standards required for grades 9-10.  Students will study a variety of literature and non-fiction in this course and work with the skills needed to comprehend, analyze and evaluate different types of  reading. Short stories, poetry, nonfiction texts, plays, and novels will be studied. This course will include numerous writing activities, both formal and informal, along with a comprehensive review of the rules which apply to grammar and usage. This class is intended to be significantly more challenging than previous English courses.
