• Supplies
There is no need to send additional supplies for reading group. However, depending on your student's grade level, you may notice some materials sent home.

Most first and second grade students (and some kindergarten students in the spring) will bring home a “Take-Home Book,” which is a copy of a book he/she has already read in school. Your reader should be able to read these fluently by the time they bring them home. Your child can read the "Take-Home Book" to you, an older brother or sister, or other caregiver. If everyone is busy, you can even have your child read to his/her stuffed animal! The idea is to read at night and to practice what he/she has learned about reading. Feel free to keep these to reread or return to school when finished. Finding a special shelf or basket to store these books will make rereading them easier for your child.
